A little industrialised region,
the Lot has taken advantage of its exceptional heritage and natural
resources in developing its tourist and cultural activities along with
sports and leisure. The department boasts a large infrastructure of
rural accommodation with its rural gites, camping sites and even
horse-drawn caravans enabling the visitor to enjoy a stay in the heart
of nature.
All periods are represented in the Lot:
Prehistory (Pech Merle), Romanesque art and its domed churches (Cahors,
Souillac), Medieval architecture at Rocamadour and Saint Cirq Lapopie
and the Renaissance, characterised in the construction of its castles
and beautiful residences.
A land of traditions and
pleasant lifestyle, the Lot is also a gastronomic delight with its many
culinary specialities. You can enjoy truffles, cepes, foie gras,
conserves and cabecous (small goats cheeses) accompanied by succulent
Cahors wines.
Have a happy stay in the
Lot
